The 2012 Legislative Session is now underway, and there are many important issues on the horizon and much work to be done. I was recently appointed to the House Budget Committee and will be working hard to understand our state’s fiscal challenges so we can meet our constitutional requirement of balancing our state’s budget in a responsible way. I will also be visiting with parents, teachers and administrators in our school districts to get input regarding education legislation. Finally, I will continue my service on the House Committee on Job Creation and hope the House and Senate will work together to pass comprehensive legislation to improve our local economy.
